KEPERO GUIDE
Share posts, collections and materials safely
Your library starts private. Sharing creates a public view of selected information, and the preview is the place to check exactly what you are about to expose.
Choose the right public view
A shared material shows its published title and original source URL. A shared collection shows its published name and included link titles and URLs. Personal notes, transcripts and the collection's private description are excluded.
A published post shows the reviewed post body, title, publisher display name and the media and sources you choose to include. Notes and transcripts are not attached automatically. Text copied into the body is part of the published post.
Understand search visibility
Published posts are eligible for search indexing and appear in Kepero's sitemap. That makes them discoverable, but does not guarantee that a search engine will index them or display a result.
Shared collections and individual materials are unlisted and carry noindex instructions. Anyone with an active link can still open them. An unlisted link is not password protection, and search instructions cannot make disclosed information secret.
Review, then publish changes
For a post, use Preview → Publish → Share; draft edits need Publish changes. For a collection or saved material, open Share and review the preview before enabling the link. New collection members, restored or re-added materials, and changes to published names or titles require Publish changes to appear in that public view.
If content changes in another tab, reload the draft and open a fresh Preview for posts, or reopen Share for collections and saved materials. An outdated preview must be reviewed again before publication. Your personal note and transcript remain private even after you publish changes.
Remove access promptly
Turning off a public link makes that URL unavailable in Kepero. Re-enabling sharing creates a new link; the previous link stays revoked.
Hiding or deleting a saved material revokes its individual public link immediately. Removing or hiding a collection member removes it from that collection's public view without waiting for Publish changes. Deleting the collection revokes its public link.
Keep the limits of revocation in mind
Restoring a hidden material does not revive its revoked individual link. A published post has its own snapshot: changing a source material does not automatically retract content already included in a post. Review or turn off that post's public link separately.
Revocation prevents new access through Kepero. It cannot erase copies someone has already saved, and search engines can take time to remove a previously indexed result. Avoid publishing information you cannot safely disclose.
Understand usage measurement
Kepero keeps first-party counts of public-page loads, registrations and a first save within seven days. The report distinguishes entries from the homepage, Help, public Posts and the blog. Blog loads do not prove reading or completion. It uses broad page and source categories, not your saved URLs, search queries, notes or transcripts. It has no analytics cookies, browser storage or visitor identifiers and does not send these counts to another analytics service.
Attribution lasts up to 30 minutes in page memory and can be lost on a reload or new tab. A private account marker prevents repeated saves from counting as new activations; measurement state is retained until the next measured public entry after 90 days. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control suppress new browser events and signup attribution. Authenticated requests carrying those signals also remove the account marker, stopping future activation measurement. Only authorized site owners can read aggregate reports.
